Trauttmansdorff Castle in the spa town of Merano

Japanese flowering cherry, mimosa, dahlia, lotus flowers, Meran roses – just the most beautiful of the spring flowers to be seen at Trauttmansdorff Castle. Blooms and blossoms follow one another through the seasons until November, producing a colourful ocean of flowers that spills its delicate scents over the castle walls and into the surrounding area so that there can be no doubt that, here, a Garden of Eden awaits the visitor with enchanting walks. In 2013 the Gardens were selected as the “International Garden of the Year”. Culture too is provided for next to this lush natural setting: there are summer concerts by the castle lake of music both old and new, while the Castle also houses the Touriseum, which tells the story of tourism in South Tyrol in entertaining style.
