Young spirits run through the high grass, catching chirping crickets, they swoosh down rivers in boats and climb rugged rock faces. Kids love the outdoors – because nature means freedom.
Kids and teenagers can run just as wild between the rocky outcrops, teeming meadows and tree canopies as the nature that surrounds them. Parents can relax and sun themselves on the bench at an Alpine hut while their offspring are either climbing rock faces, riding mountain bikes through the summer wilderness or practising snow sports on the slopes of Meran 2000. If you give kids enough scope and space, they will find it easier to get back to their roots – just like a boomerang. Fortunately there is plenty of space for them to enjoy in and around Hafling...
Unleash your energies and test your limits! From June to September supervised rock climbing courses are offered in the holiday region around Meran for kids and teens to climb walls, practise tactics and learn dexterity. Mountain bike courses at the Hotel Mesnerwirt are run by the boss personally, with wonderful excursions into the unspoilt Alpine world! At the Bike Academy’s Bikepark young cyclists can also improve their riding techniques on specially designed courses. Those who prefer two wheels to four (and would prefer to stay safely on the ground) can check out a quad bike! And there is of course something for swimmers and real adrenaline junkies: the River Passer runs through the spa town of Meran, with rafting tours available that range from gentle, flowing stretches to foaming white water.
Young adults also need time out to forget the stress of school and everyday life and sample the wellness and beauty worlds! Facials, massages or relaxing baths can be perfectly combined with a visit to the textile sauna to work up a healthy sweat, followed by the refreshing cool of the pool, or perhaps a bubbling massage in the jacuzzi. If the choice is for the spa – then make sure to choose the full programme!
A winter holiday in the natural world of the mountains should be enjoyed to the max! At the Snow-Park in the Meran 2000 ski area, for example. Junior snowboarders can practise backflips and other tricks or learn from a pro. Those who prefer skis on their feet or a sledge underneath them will also find what they are looking for at Meran 2000: with the “Alpin Bob” on rails, a toboggan run, skiing for beginners or for mini-professionals, the super-white slopes are always perfectly groomed!
