Be the first to make tracks in the fresh snow, in boots or in snowshoes, on a sledge or on skis. Sweep the snow from the larch trees as you sweep past, or marvel at the silence. Be wild and free like a child, or listen to the snowflakes. Become as the winter.
While the winter may not reach down into the valley, it will most certainly sweep over the Tschögglberg plateau! At 1,600 metres, the snow always comes, sooner or later. A pure, white, soft blanket then lies over the farmsteads, pastures and dense forests. This is the realm of silent explorers, appreciative dreamers and nature lovers with a penchant for the Alpine winter idyll. The quiet winter landscapes create a realm of adventure.
Those invigorated by piercing cold air and snow, or those who still love snowball fights and tracking animals in the snow, will be sure to love the Meran 2000 ski area. Whether on snowboard or skis, its 40 km of perfectly groomed pistes range from beginner-friendly to steep and challenging. The sun too has plenty to laugh about here: fat, round and bright, it beams down not only on Meran 2000 and Hafling, but also on the mighty winter peaks of the nearby Texel group, the unspoilt Sarntal Valley, the broad Vinschgau Valley, the quiet Vigiljoch and the sparkling Christmas market of Meran. The white of winter has many facets: Hafling is the place to see them all.
